One arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in Five Points death

A 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with a woman’s death at a home in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood.

Paramedics found the woman’s body at a home in the 2000 block of North Broadway on Sept. 9 after responding to a welfare check, Denver Police Department officials said Tuesday.

Investigators determined the woman died “under suspicious circumstances” from an assault on Sept. 7 and identified Jasmane Taylor as a suspect through witness interviews and surveillance video.

Taylor was arrested Friday during an unrelated investigation and is currently in custody at the Downtown Detention Center on a $1,000,000 cash bond, according to jail records.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
