Eastbound Interstate 70 closed through Glenwood Canyon for crash cleanup

Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed through Glenwood Canyon so Colorado Department of Transportation crews can finish cleaning up a tractor-trailer crash.

The highway will be closed between exit 114 for West Glenwood and exit 133 for Dotsero until at least 2 p.m., CDOT officials said in a news release.

A rollover crash involving a semi-truck closed the highway for most of the day Tuesday, but further cleanup was delayed by a rockslide that closed U.S. 40 near Steamboat Springs on Wednesday.

One person, the truck driver, was injured in the crash.

Drivers on eastbound I-70 can detour north by taking exit 87 in Rifle, heading north on Colorado 13 to Craig, taking U.S. 40 to Steamboat Springs and then Colorado 9 south to Silverthorne to return to I-70.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
