A man was arrested for theft and causing disturbances throughout multiple Aspen establishments over the course of two days, allegedly racking up a nearly $7,000 bar tab.
The suspect, from Birmingham, Michigan, has been charged with two petty offenses and one class five felony for theft.
On Dec. 26, Pitkin County Regional Dispatch Center aired a disturbance at 601 Dean Street in which an intoxicated man, later identified as the suspect, had allegedly jumped onto the Silver Queen Gondola without paying and caused a scene in the process, according to arrest records.
Shortly after 1 p.m., he arrived at the top of the gondola and entered the Aspen Sundeck where he used what was described as a marker to draw on the property. The man was contacted by Aspen Skiing Company patrollers and escorted back to the gondola.
